Advertising tips & tricks for June 2026

Welcome to The Walkthrough

I’m sure you missed us last month; we missed you too. Time flies when you’re helping renters find their homes.

July is hot, and it’s HERE, which means we’ve probably caught a few of you with sweat dripping down your backs as you climb the stairs of a fifth-floor walkup for a showing. We see you, and we respect the grind. No one does it like NYC agents. In this email, you’ll find:

  • New features: Suggested listings for Elite Agents
  • Advertising tips: Reply rate and what it means for your listings’ discoverability
  • Word on the street: Turn your pain points into features

Sharpen your advertising, showcase listings smarter, and stay connected with RentHop — so you can focus on what matters most: taking your clients on a walkthrough of their future home.

New Feature

Suggested Listings

Recently, we’ve implemented a direct messaging feature and a revamped agent profile page with the ability to showcase listings. Now, we’ve rolled out another new feature: Suggested Elite Agent listings.

The first listing displayed on the first page of many search results may now be populated with a “Suggested” listing from one of our Elite Agents. These suggested listing recommendations are selected to align closely with a renter’s search criteria while also helping renters discover additional inventory that may meet their needs.

Apartment searches often evolve as renters learn more about the market and adjust their expectations. Suggested listings are designed to surface relevant alternatives that might otherwise be overlooked, creating additional exposure opportunities for participating agents. The feature was rolled out last week, and we’re actively monitoring renter engagement and performance. See below for an example:

*Please note that not all search results will display a suggested listing.

Advertising Tips

REPLY RATE While enjoying all that Summer in the city (or out of it) has to offer, don’t forget to keep up with your incoming leads.

Part of your HopScore comes from your Reply Rate and how quickly you respond to messages from renters. If you are unable to respond to inquiries due to vacation or other circumstances, we recommend deactivating the listing or ensuring the lead is sent to someone who can respond on your behalf. Staying on top of messages not only helps your HopScores, but increases renter satisfaction and helps you stay competitive.

Reply Rate

Direct messages do not impact your HopScore or reply rate.

Click to read more here about reply rate at the bottom of the manager reputation page.

Feedback

Many of the features we’ve launched over the past year—including Direct Messages, enhanced Agent Profile Pages, and Suggested Listings—have been shaped by feedback from agents and advertisers using RentHop every day.

As we continue to improve the platform, we’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s a feature request, a workflow you’d like streamlined, or an idea that could help you generate more leads, your feedback helps us prioritize future development and build tools that better support your business.

Have a suggestion? Simply reply to this email—we read every submission and regularly review feedback when planning new product updates.
