Flushing

Considered one of the most ethnically diverse communities in Queens. Immigrants in the greater Flushing area come from over 70 different countries, with the largest share from Mainland China and Korea. The neighborhood is easily accessible via the 7 train, LIRR, and multiple different bus routes. Today, the neighborhood is one the busiest shopping districts in Queens. It's many ethnic groceries and restaurants make it a prime culinary destination for all to enjoy. In fact, many now consider Flushing's Chinatown to be the second largest Chinatown outside of Asia, and many believe that it has already surpassed the original size and population of the Manhattan Chinatown. Those looking to rent their new home within Flushing can expect to live in a quiet neighborhood of older high-rise and mid-rise and smaller buildings.

Today, there are over 200 houses of worship in Flushing, including the Old Quaker Meeting House, the oldest house of worship in New York State. Beginning in the 1980′s, a wave of immigration transformed Flushing into one of the most ethnically diverse communities in Queens.
