If you are searching for the perfect uptown location combined with the feel of a downtown loft - look no further.  This pre-war building conveniently located on the UES only one block away from the Asphalt Green sports complex, a short walk to Carl Schurz Park and a nice stroll from Central Park is one of the last few left like it.

This duplex penthouse loft with below average monthly maintenance is located on the top two floors of the building providing great natural light and is a true 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home that features an amazing 800 square foot private terrace for you to enjoy year round.  The original lofted character can be found throughout the entire apartment, including exposed brick walls, both wood columns and beams and original hardwood floors that are in great condition.  With ample storage and closets space, a full sized washer and dryer in unit and updated kitchen and bathrooms this is the perfect combination of old world charm and modern convenience.  If you have always dreamed of loft living but are not convinced that moving downtown is right for you, this is the ideal home for you.

The main floor includes a beautifully appointed chefs kitchen with Silestone countertops, a Wolf stove, Miele dishwasher and has great storage throughout, a gracious sized dining room large enough to accommodate any family gathering, a grand living room for entertaining and one of two bedrooms with a full bathroom.    The top floor features the private master bedroom complete with two walk in closets and the master bathroom and of course direct access to your very own private outdoor oasis comprised of 800 square foot of recently replaced wood decking complete with irrigation, power and additional storage.

Built in 1901 as a piano factory and converted to loft apartments in 1980, 407 East 91st Street is an extremely well-run, intimate prewar building with an elevator, live-in super, central laundry and pet-friendly policy.  A great UES location, near Carl Schurz Park, Asphalt Green, Gracie Mansion, and the Vinegar Factory as well as great restaurants, shopping, schools, and the cross town bus.

UPPER EAST SIDE

The Upper East Side has a reputation of wealth and opulence. Once home to the wealthiest New Yorkers (like the Kennedys, the Roosevelts, and the Rockefellers), the UES is filled with ornate and beautiful buildings. Today, the Upper East Side is still considered one of the more expensive neighborhoods, however, in recent years, it has begun to see younger arrivals (people in their 20s and 30s) who are finding better deals up north, away from the Lower East Side and/or hip Williamsburg.

With the completion of the 2nd Avenue train, the neighborhood is only becoming more accessible to everyone as previously the only train servicing the UEW was the 4,5,6 on Lexington Avenue. Even better, the further east you go, the cheaper the apartments get. All this is only adding on to the interest from renters who no longer have to commute for as long to get to the area.

Boundaries of Upper East Side

The Upper East Side contains some smaller neighborhoods such as Yorkville, Lenox Hill, Carnegie…
