Agent Profile
Rae Smith has heard from many customers that she is very easy to work with.  That's because she sees herself more than anything, as a consultant for clients looking to rent or buy and adds that while she does advise, "People pretty much know what they like. You've just got to listen carefully then try your best to find it."

Rae's success also stems from the fact that she doesn't just show apartments; she features them. "Coming from the television business: Number 1, you always want to know the story; Number 2, you think in detail and 3, aesthetically- you always want things pretty."  In addition, a childhood love of demographics makes getting to know new neighborhoods and their unique offerings an easy pass-time for Rae.  Ask her about Queens' neighborhoods from Forest Hills to Long Island City and any neighborhood she's studied so far (including areas of Manhattan) and you will find her excited to share.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Rae received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Communications at Howard University in Washington, D.C. After working in the hospitality and television industries, she turned her interpersonal and organizational skills to the world of real estate which always intrigued her. Rae began her career as a referral agent, then did part-time rentals in D.C. before moving to New York.

The kind of service Rae provides is exactly what she would want for herself: passionate, knowledgeable and organized, making good use of the vast resources Citi Habitats offers to get the best value for each client. She also lists integrity as essential to succeeding in real estate. "It's very important to keep the consumer grounded in the reality of the market and on what his or her individual circumstances can bare."

Rae specializes in Queens and the east side Manhattan markets, but will take you anywhere in the city where your unique real estate interests lie. She provides the honest, upfront guidance and efficient service you need to make the best decisions.

Outside of work, Rae enjoys photography, gardening, dining out and sightseeing. "I love NYC's rich history, especially in the arts and ethnic enclaves."
