Prior to becoming a real estate agent she worked as a graphic designer and art director in the music industry, creating marketing materials for Universal and Motown Records. In addition to that, she worked as an artist for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, MO. and wardrobe dresser with the Theatrical Wardrobe Union, dressing the casts for such Broadway shows as 42nd Street, Cabaret, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and The Metropolitan Opera House.
Jamella holds a BFA from Syracuse University in textile and fashion design and has also pursued studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, in Manhattan.
In Jamella's spare time, she serves as the founder and vice-president of Karama, a mentoring group for teenage girls, in East New York, Brooklyn. One of her personal goals is to bring tech organizations to schools in Brooklyn, to teach kids how to code. Her passion for mentoring and giving back to the community equals her passion for assisting her clients with renting, purchasing or selling their home.
