Barclay Smyly started his NYC real estate career in 2012. His first year in the business he was the 2nd top producing broker at a 100-person residential real estate firm. Earning him the "Most Dedicated" award for overall production and client satisfaction testimonials. He found his passion for commercial real estate soon after while guiding a non-profit in the consolidation of their Manhattan locations to one primary building.
Making the jump from residential real estate to commercial Barclay continued progressing in his career at Massey Knakal in the retail leasing department. Primarily representing landlords in Midtown West/Hell's Kitchen amongst other neighborhoods on Manhattan's West Side. He was rapidly promoted to taking care of 15 retail exclusives closing 10 of them by the end of the year. After the Massey Knakal/Cushman & Wakefield merger he joined Lee & Associates known for their retail leasing focus where he represented some of NYC's largest developers and landlords.
Today, Barclay has come full circle. Now advising both his residential and commercial clients at Alonzo Properties NYC which is an owner/property manager located in Hell's Kitchen. Being on the brokerage side of Alonzo Properties NYC Barclay is focused on representing neighborhood building owner's commercial and residential needs.
Barclay was raised in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan and obtained his B.A. in Fashion Design and Apparel Studies from Western Michigan University. Continuing his education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in their technical design certificate program, meanwhile, working for notable companies such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Natori and several menswear tailors.
