DESCRIPTION
Charming, serene, and well-equipped, this fully furnished one-bedroom (with balcony) is in a new, small-scale (33 unit total), elevator building. We're located on the perfect quiet block in the midst of the Lower East Side.

As it is on the 6th floor, the apartment receives great morning light that can be enjoyed either inside or on the comfortable private balcony. The unit has hardwood floors, a fully equipped modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, granite countertops, gas stove and plenty of cookware. The bathroom has a Toto Washlet and rain shower head (the water pressure is a life changer). The bedroom is equipped with a Queen latex mattress on a platform bed frame with tufted headboard. Plenty of drawer space in mid century modern dressers and a sizable bedroom closet.

Expandable dining table and pull out couch. 65" wall mount TV is set up with Apple TV and an excellent sound system amongst DWR furnishings. High speed Wifi. In-wall AC units in both the bedroom and living room. Utilities and twice monthly cleaning service included.

The building has a basement laundry room and roof deck with fantastic Midtown skyline views.

Great bars, restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and shops nearby. Roasting Plant Coffee, Trader Joe's, Target, Essex Market, and the Tenement Museum are a few blocks away. Whole Foods is a 10 minute walk. Quick walk to the East Village, Nolita, Soho, or walk over the bridge to Williamsburg! The B, D, F, J, M, and Z subway lines are each 2 blocks away (less than 5 minutes).

CHINATOWN

While Chinatown in Manhattan isn't even the largest Chinatown in NYC (That one is in Flushing Queens) it's the neighborhood you think of when someone mentions New York street markets and great dining. With a fascinating history and a ton of cultural institutions, Chinatown is truly a neighborhood that's not to be missed.

Fun Facts and History of Chinatown

Chinatown began when one Cantonese immigrant, Ah Ken, came to the neighborhood that was known as Five Points and opened a cigar shop in the 1850's. This shop became wildly successful and Ah Ken wrote back to his family and friends to brag about his success. He then purchased many of the buildings surrounding his shop and let other Chinese immigrants live there for very cheap.

In the late 1800's, the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed, and immigrating to the US became very difficult. Men outnumbered women in the area by a large amount until the Act was repealed in 1943. While immigration was still difficult, the number began to…

RENTHOP DESCRIPTION
The apartment is a unit offered at a monthly price of $3,500. The building allows easy access via an elevator. The manager specfically mentions dogs are allowed but strangely has not mentioned cats. It may be an oversight or the building may really not allow cats. We recommend inquiring about the specifics of the pet policy.. The kitchen conveniently includes a dishwasher. This is a No Fee apartment, meaning the manager or agent should not ask you for a broker fee (there may still be deposits and other move-in fees paid to the landlord).

We have 5 photos of this particular unit, building, and surrounding areas.
