DESCRIPTION
Available September, 2020 through early 2021 (flexible begin and end date). I can also start the lease on October 1st if that works for you. No fee. Four to 6 months. No Fee.
This is a comfortable East Village studio in a modern building (built in 2006). Furnished. My apartment faces the back of the building and is very quiet. You seldom hear the neighbors. There is an elevator and double-secured entry. My neighbors are professionals and families with young children.
The kitchen includes stainless steel appliances. The furniture is comfortable and clean. I have replaced and removed some of the furniture since the photos were taken. There is an endless supply of hot water. The AC quickly and thoroughly cools down the apartment.
I have a private deck that is 20 by 30 feet. Enjoy meals at the table, harvest basil and mint from the garden or just sunbathe and listen to the birds. It's refreshing after a day in the city to chill with the flowers. From the couch, you can see the sky, birds and a beautiful old synagogue stained glass window.
The apartment is a larger-sized studio for Manhattan. There is a comfortable queen-size bed.
You have access to the rooftop deck at all times of year with views facing in all directions. You can pop up their nightly to see the Empire State building, Freedom Tower, skyline and bridges. Eat breakfast up there every morning, do yoga at sunset or have friends over.
No smoking except on the deck.
I prefer quiet guests, no loud parties please. Two tenants maximum.
This sublet is approved by my landlords. Landlords will do credit check, will cost potential sublettor $20. Rent includes utilities.
What you will love in the neighborhood:
Located in the heart of Lower Manhattan, the East Village is an exciting neighborhood that embodies the ultimate New York City experience.
This is a good base from which to explore one of the most exciting neighborhoods and cities in the world.
You will be within walking distance of subways, Union Square Park, Washington Square Park, Tompkins Square Park and East River Park--perfect spots to exercise, people watch, sit in the sun, and listen to local musicians. The apartment is a one minute walk from a Citibike share station.
The neighborhood is safe and filled with cafes, restaurants, community gardens, live music venues and interesting neighborhood spots. This is one of the few NYC neighborhoods that still feels like a neighborhood--the block and surrounding area are populated by a truly New York mix of people. My block alone has 4 community gardens, a gallery, a firehouse, a Belgian waffle house, young professionals, families who have lived here for many generations, and a high rise luxury building (not mine:).
You can easily walk to the Soho, NYU, the West Village, Little Italy, Chinatown, Soho and the Lower East Side. Take one of the many nearby trains to visit Rockefeller Center, the Statue of Liberty, the Met, MOMA, the Highline or anywhere else on your NYC bucket list.
You can buy groceries at the nearby Whole Foods, local markets, delis and year-round farmers markets. However, I would suggest heading to the nearby cafes and restaurants of every ethnicity, bagel and pizza shops, espresso joints and teahouses. Deliveries are quick and easy. Just let me know what interests you and I will provide several recommendations!

MAP
EAST VILLAGE
The East Village is a buzzing hub of youthful energy and
activity, boasting bookstores, cafes, galleries, and hip bars.
Situated between 3rd avenue and the East River, with 14th street to
the north and Houston to the south, this neighborhood is both
stylish and laid back. Once the most vibrant art scene in NYC, it
remains a trendy neighborhood to the avant-garde while also
boasting a much more polished edge, complete with luxury condos,
franchised coffee shops, and plenty of lunch spots.
Like most of New York, the East Village started out as farmland.
Until the early 1960s, the East Village was just the northern tip
of the Lower East Side, largely occupied by German and Ukrainian
working class immigrants. However, the Beat movement made its roots
in the East Village in the 1950's and paved the way for the influx
of the counterculture scene of the 60s.
Since then, the art scene of the East Village exploded with
series like Andy Warhol's…
