Peterson DeCoteau is a 20 year resident of Brooklyn and has worked in the real estate business for 15 years. He started his career as a real estate agent in 2003 and won 'Rookie of the year' after his first year in business. In 2004 he decided to become a residential appraiser, then a certified appraiser from 2006 to 2014. After many years being an appraiser, Peterson realized that his passion is selling real estate and returned to his first love of providing great service and expertise to buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants.
His clients always come first. Because of Peterson's experience being both a broker and an appraiser, he has gathered a wealth of knowledge and expertise which has benefited his clients immensely and have led to many successful transactions and highly satisfied clients. His calm and comforting demeanor always puts clients at ease, because he listens intently to their wants and needs, takes note of their areas of concern and advises them of the best route to follow to achieve their goals.
Peterson knows that in the very competitive New York real estate market, that education is the great differentiator between an average broker and a super broker. Therefore, he has invested heavily in his craft and skills by obtaining industry designations. Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE), Graduate of Realtor Institute (GRI) and Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), ensures that his clients interest are met and they receive the most professional and knowledge filled advice possible.
Peterson understands that purchasing, selling and renting real estate are usually the largest financial decision one makes. He recognizes and values the trust his clients place in him to give honest and accurate advice that leads to successful transactions and strives every day to exceed their expectations.
When he isn't working, he frequently travels to North Carolina to spend time with his 11-year-old daughter. He plays soccer at old boys and girl's field in East Flatbush and enjoys watching football and basketball with friends. He is also on his local community board and serves on the Housing, Land Use and Commerce committees.
