Growing up one hour from New York City in New Jersey and Connecticut, Matt Torrey frequently visited Manhattan by train. As a child, he was impressed by the city's diverse culture, liveliness and especially it's architecture. He knew he would one day live here.
After high school, Matt attended the University of North Texas, where he received a B.A. in Music, minoring in Business Studies. While in college, Matthew had his first experience in real estate working a summer job in construction. During his seasonal career building wood-framed houses from the ground up, he learned everything about the physical anatomy of a home, the parts behind the walls that most people never see. This knowledge would later come in very hand when he would be showing homes to prospective buyers and renters.
After a decade as a server and bartender in some of San Francisco and Brooklyn's top restaurants, he opened Matt Torrey's Bar in East Williamsburg. His years in the food and beverage service industry gave him a thorough understanding of good customer service and how it applies to all walks of life. In 2018 Matt decided to sell his bar and dive head-first into the real estate business.
Matt's positive attitude, sense of humor and ability to listen attentively to the needs of others place him above the rest when it comes to finding the right home for someone. He will take the time to find out exactly what his clients are looking for and show them everything that matches their criteria.
