John Datri is the President and CEO of Empire Properties. As the sole acting broker John oversees all real estate sales and leasing transactions both residential and commercial. Whether you are searching for a new home, a new location for your business or simply an investment opportunity John will personally ensure his team provides you with the world class service you expect.
Before coming to real estate John worked as a successful television producer creating cutting edge work for clients such as Virgin Records and Sony Music Group.
John became licensed as a real estate sales person in 2005 and quickly began working for a large commercial brokerage as a tenant representative. His primary clients were located in the financial sector and the medical field. Over the next 2 years while negotiating leases for trading floors and medical space John realized that the residential market was booming and wanted to get involved.
In 2007 John left his current company and joined a downtown based residential firm where he could continue to work in commercial real estate for select clients while also getting thoroughly involved leasing and selling new construction - luxury high rise properties throughout Manhattan. Very quickly John became the sole associate broker at his new company and through hard work and lots of transactions got to know the residential market inside and out.
In January of 2010 John founded Empire Properties. John brought with him a team of his most trusted colleagues and under his advisement and leadership they are all together at your service.
John is a native New Yorker and was raised both in Greenwich Village and San Francisco. He currently resides in The Village with his beloved wife Charlotte and treasured cat Bing. Beyond real estate John is passionate about travel, foreign culture and his restored 1969 Vespa. John is an aficionado of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and the rich history behind America's only Native Spirit.
