DESCRIPTION
Hello! I'm looking for a female roommate to join me (another female, 27 y/o) in a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment in Bushwick. The apartment is railroad style and I'm looking for someone to take the interior room, though my room has a separate entrance so I wouldn't have to go through yours. It's a huge space (226" x 98") with a good-sized closet and more built in storage above the closet. Full disclosure: the drawback is that there is no window in that bedroom, though there is decent light from the kitchen windows if the door is left open, as seen in the pictures. I know that's a dealbreaker for some but there are a lot of other wonderful qualities to this place. I will also have a cat, and I'm hoping to find someone who thinks that's a major plus rather than just something to live with. The bedroom is unfurnished but the rest of the apartment will be furnished.

As far as transportation goes, it's two blocks from the L and M at Myrtle-Wyckoff and four blocks from the J. There's an excellent Food Bazaar about two and half blocks away, plus several smaller grocery stores even closer. There's a laundromat half a block away, and CVS as well as Duane Reade right under the Myrtle-Wyckoff stop.

Heat and hot water are included. I would ask for half the security plus a month of rent in advance of move-in, and I would want you to sign a roommate agreement, though I'll be the only one on the lease. Move-in would ideally be at the start of January, though I'm already in the apartment and have no problem with someone starting to bring stuff over before then.

Happy to show the place any time!

BUSHWICK

Surrounded by Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Ridgewood Queens, East New York and Brownsville, Bushwick is a trendy area beloved by artists and young professionals. With a hopping nightlife and some great restaurants, it's no wonder why people love this neighborhood.

Fun Facts and History of Bushwick

Some of the roads traversed by hipsters and artists on their bikes today are trails cut by Native Americans. Taken over by the Dutch, the land became food and tobacco farms, and then transitioned into an industrial hotspot in the 1800's.

The factories of Bushwick primarily produced sugar, oil, and various chemicals. These factories brought many immigrants, especially German ones, to the neighborhood. These immigrants opened many breweries and Bushwick was soon named as the "beer capital of the Northeast."

During the late 1800's, Bushwick garnered more of an Italian population as well, though industry still dominated the neighborhood until after WWII, when many of the factories…
