DESCRIPTION
Designer 1-Bedroom with Private Roof Deck on a Soho Side Street

A beautifully appointed one-bedroom on Thompson Street, one of the quieter, more residential blocks in Soho. Hardwood floors and exposed brick walls carry the character of the 1920 building, while the finishes throughout are thoroughly current.

The kitchen is a modern designer build with stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, microwave, and wine cooler. A washer and dryer sit inside the unit, with additional laundry in the building.

Private roof deck access gives you outdoor space of your own, with open views across skyline, water, and green space to the south.

The co-op offers unusually deep services for a boutique building: elevator, live-in super, package room, bike room, and storage including cold storage and lockers. Cats and dogs are welcome, guarantors are accepted, and both pied-a-terre use and sublets are permitted.

Thompson Street puts you between Soho's boutiques and the restaurants of Hudson Square, with Tribeca, Nolita, and the West Village all a short walk away. The C/E at Spring Street is a two-minute walk, with the 1 and A/C/E at Canal Street and the R/W at Prince Street close behind.

Fun Facts and History of SoHo

During the era of Dutch colonialism, SoHo was the site of the first free Black settlement in Manhattan. The land would remain largely rural until the draining of the Collect Pond due to pollution. Soon after, Broadway and Canal street were paved and people began to come in droves.

During the early and mid 1800's SoHo began constructing cast iron buildings in order to reduce the risk of fires, which had become common in the city. The buildings allowed for large windows and apartments. The wealthy elites of Manhattan called this place home until the invention of Modern Steel, which allowed for the development of skyscrapers. The rich, seeking modern luxuries, moved to…
