DESCRIPTION
Hello! I'm looking for someone to take over my portion of the lease for 1br in a beautiful 2br apartment in prime Park Slope. The room is unfurnished and will be available starting August 15 (I'm flexible with the start date), with the lease ending April 1, 2018.
Currently living in the apartment is a young friendly, creative professional in her late 20s, her lovable large dog and her very friendly small cat. Unfortunately our landlord will not allow any more animals in the apartment, so ideally you would be an animal lover without animals of your own. You should also be quiet, responsible, and be able to pay bills on time.
Your portion of the rent is 1575/mo (heat and hot water incl.), and around 100/mo for utilities (your portion of gas, electricity and internet).
The apartment features stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, subway tile, high ceilings, a large skylight in the kitchen and beautiful architectural finishes throughout the apartment such as crown molding, transoms above the doors, and an exposed brick wall in the living room. The room for rent is approximately 11.5 ft x 13.5 ft and has a large double-doored closet with storage overhead, two windows and a built in bookcase. Pictured is my room before I moved my stuff in and the apartment as it currently is.
The closest subway is the R train at Union Street and 4th Ave (about 3 blocks away). Take that one stop headed towards Manhattan and you are at Atlantic Ave/Barclays Center where you can transfer to the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, Q, N, W, D. The F and G are also nearby (about 7 blocks). The B63 bus also runs along 5th Avenue, which will take you to Trader Joes, or there is a grocery store 4 blocks away on Union and 5th Ave, or Whole Foods a block and an ave away. There is a laundromat on the next block across the street, and a small park 2 blocks south that has a farmer's market every Sunday. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bars in this neighborhood as well as boutiques and stores.
Thanks for your time!

PARK SLOPE
On the west side of Prospect Park, wedged between Prospect
Heights and Gowanus, lies Park Slope, the chill neighborhood
beloved by young professionals and artists. This quiet neighborhood
is full of fun bars, restaurants, and unique stores, all of which
make living here a lot of fun.
Park Slope started out its life as many New York neighborhoods
did: as farmland. However, this farmland would soon see trouble, as
it was where the majority of The Battle of Long Island was fought
during the American Revolution. After the war, Park Slope would
remain farmland until roughly 1839, when the Brooklyn grid system
was drawn up. Farmers sold their land to the new city of Brooklyn
and row houses were soon built.
Park Slope was slow to develop since the area was hard to get to
in the 1800's. The neighborhood itself didn't see much construction
until the 1840's and 50's. However, Prospect Park was soon in
development in the 1860's and 70's, leading to an…
