DESCRIPTION
This is one of the rooms in a 4-bed 1-bath apartment. The building was built in 2011, so everything is pretty new. It has 3 floors, with 1 unit on each floor. This apartment is located on the top (3rd) floor. There is hardwood floor throughout the apartment. The living room and the kitchen are both furnished and very spacious. The living room, especially, enjoys ample natural light.
The bedroom itself is probably the most spacious room in the apartment. It can easily fit a double bed. It has one south-facing window, which lets in a lot of natural light/sunshine. The closet space is very sufficient. The room will come unfurnished.
The other 3 roommates are all quiet, friendly, and respectful. They are all young professionals with varying hours, so even though there is only one bathroom, I rarely have to compete for bathroom time.
The location is one of the biggest perks of this apartment. It is conveniently located only 1 block away from the Halsey St stop on the J train, which takes you to Manhattan in 30 minutes. The J train, by the way, has performed very stably (relative to other NYC subway lines) during the last year when I lived here--the likelihood of J train maintaining a "good service" status during inclement weathers is, based on my observation, higher than other trains. In addition, you will also be only a 10-minute walk away from the L train (Bushwick Av-Aberdeen St) and 15 minutes from the C (Rockaway Av). There is also a bus right around the corner that runs straight to downtown Brooklyn.
The neighborhood is a bustling residential area. I always feel safe around here, even at night. The laundromat is right across the street, which saves you the hassle of tedious laundry treks. The laundromat owner is super friendly. There is a small grocery store at the subway entrance that carries most basic groceries as well as some Asian/organic produce. The Key Food is about 3 or 4 blocks away. The nearest library and post office are both within a 5-minute walk.
The rent is $850 per month. With utilities, it usually adds up to a little over $900. I have not once had any problems with heat, hot water, electricity, or Wi-Fi. In fact, the apartment is very warm in the winter.

BUSHWICK
Surrounded by Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Ridgewood
Queens, East New York and Brownsville, Bushwick is a trendy area
beloved by artists and young professionals. With a hopping
nightlife and some great restaurants, it's no wonder why people
love this neighborhood.
Some of the roads traversed by hipsters and artists on their
bikes today are trails cut by Native Americans. Taken over by the
Dutch, the land became food and tobacco farms, and then
transitioned into an industrial hotspot in the 1800's.
The factories of Bushwick primarily produced sugar, oil, and
various chemicals. These factories brought many immigrants,
especially German ones, to the neighborhood. These immigrants
opened many breweries and Bushwick was soon named as the "beer
capital of the Northeast."
During the late 1800's, Bushwick garnered more of an Italian
population as well, though industry still dominated the
neighborhood until after WWII, when many of the factories…
