DESCRIPTION
A very special addition to the Red Hook rental market is here. This parlor floor 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath is the perfect new place to call home. As you step into the apartment, you'll notice right away a sunny and generously sized living room and open kitchen with a butcher block island. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary trappings of a modern home; a dishwasher, extra storage and a built-in microwave. Making your way to the rear of the apartment, you'll find a half bath on the left. The main bedroom is large enough to fit a California King deluxe size bed ( previous tenants had it set up this way) with plenty of room to spare, a walk-in closet and it has direct access to a private patio and shared garden ( shared with the landlord). The 2nd bedroom fits a twin bed or full and faces the garden and patio. The washer and dryer are located in the basement. The tenant pays electric which is also the heat. Also includes regular storage, access to a second washer-dryer, bicycle storage, a private outdoor patio, and a shared garden. Close to all of Red Hook's attractions, restaurants and transportation (Red Hook Lobster Pound, Fairway, Ikea, Red Hook Park and many others)
The manager has listed the unit size as 1200 square feet.

RED HOOK
Red Hook is a fun filled, waterfront, residential neighborhood
right next to Carroll Gardens. While most people think of Red Hook
as "The neighborhood with the IKEA," there's so much more to see
here, including museums, restaurants, and even an art gallery or
two.
Named by the Dutch for the red clay that was found here when the
area was colonized in 1636. The area was used for shipping and
family estates until the American Revolution, when a large fort,
called Fort Defiance, was built just before the Battle of Long
Island.
The 1800's saw Red Hook transform into an industrial powerhouse.
The ports were revitalized between the 1840's and 60's due to the
deepening of the Gowanus canal and increased business from the
formation of the Erie Canal. One might think this was great for the
neighborhood. However, this success attracted organized crime by
the 1920's.
Red Hook continued to have a poor reputation throughout the
1900's, though industry…
