DESCRIPTION
The apartment is great - true 2 bed, two bath with 11'+ high ceilings and 1,000 SF. It's got really nice flow of space and has been a comfortable place for the two of us since we moved in. The building itself used to be an old school house, so has great character. All of the units were recently renovated so the apartment and the appliances are in excellent shape. The kitchen has stone countertops and porcelain tile backsplashes and the whole apartment has gorgeous red oak floors. The master bedroom comfortably fits a king bed and the second bedroom comfortably fits a queen bed for guests (or would do great as a kids room or an office). The building has a roof deck with amazing views of Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan and it's NEVER crowded. Management is also really responsive and helpful when any issues - lightbulb, etc - come up.
And finally the neighborhood: it's been a lifesaver over the last several months. Being in Brooklyn Heights gives us walking proximity to beautiful streets, amazing parks, and cute bars and restaurants. We have absolutely loved being here. And we also have easy walking access to neighborhoods like Dumbo, Fort Greene and Cobble Hill.

Brooklyn Heights started out as a port for ferries, supplying
materials and resources to the farms in the area. The neighborhood
was quickly fortified due to its strategic location, which is why
George Washington retreated here after his defeat during the Battle
of Long Island.
In 1814, the New York and Brooklyn Steamboat Company began to
run scheduled ferries between Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan,
encouraging further development. By the 1860's the area had a grid
system, as well as all the other amenities of other high profile
neighborhoods. Unlike other high profile neighborhoods, Brooklyn
Heights became an important part of the abolitionist movement,
