In a 5 blocks radius there are multiple public schools, including Forest Hills High School. Close to the building right on the corner of 99th St with Queens Blvd are a few basic restaurants such as Tower Diner, Chinese, Spanish and Kosher restaurants, but in Forest Hills, only one train stop away is more of a vibrant nightlife with bars, new popular restaurants, Forest Hills Stadium that has summer concerts, and Austin Street for shopping. On 99th Street, a block from the building is a supermarket, and on Queens Boulevard there is a CTown Supermarket, a local vegetable store, and another supermarket called Net Cost. Also right by the 67th Ave train station on Queens Blvd, there is a CVS pharmacy, dry cleaners, salons, cafes, many banks, and a NY Sports Club. 15 minutes away walking distance from the building, or one stop away at 63rd Drive, is Queens Center Mall including Costco and different department stores. There is Yellowstone Park playground nearby, as well as Flushing Meadows park a few blocks away.

Originally inhabited by the Lenape people, Rego Park was colonized by the Dutch and British around 1653. The settlement became known as Whitepot, and was incorporated into the Township of Newtown. The area was largely used for farmland, especially among British and Chinese immigrants, until the early 1900's.

Whitepot eventually became known as Rego Park, "Rego" being an abbreviation for "Real Good" as in the Real Good Construction Company that developed the area to be more residential. Department stores were later added, making Rego Park a popular place.
