GOWANUS

Once a bustling place of industry, Gowanus has become a haven for artists of all kinds. Surrounded by Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, and Red Hook, Gowanus is an eclectic mix of trendy, posh, and grunge that's hard to find anywhere else in the city.

Fun Facts and History of Gowanus

Gowanus, both the neighborhood and the canal that cuts through it, gets its name from a Carnarsee leader named Gauwane. Gowanus was the first settlement of the Dutch colony of New Netherlands, and was used as farmland as well as gristmills powered by the canal.

RENTHOP DESCRIPTION
The apartment is a unit offered at a monthly price of $3,100. This is a luxury doorman / elevator building. The building also boasts a fitness center to help residents stay in great shape. The manager specfically mentions dogs are allowed but strangely has not mentioned cats. It may be an oversight or the building may really not allow cats. We recommend inquiring about the specifics of the pet policy.. The kitchen conveniently includes a dishwasher. This is a No Fee apartment, meaning the manager or agent should not ask you for a broker fee (there may still be deposits and other move-in fees paid to the landlord).

We have 9 photos of this particular unit, building, and surrounding areas.
