DESCRIPTION
This 1-bed/1-bath luxury-rental sub-lease (or lease assignment) offers both the lease flexibility (not available with off-the-shelf listings from the leasing office) and pricing that reflects the net discounts from current building concessions (normally only available with 12, 14 and 24 month leases.) The apartment features amazing views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and Roosevelt Island green space from both the living room and bed room, with ample space to live and work (as so many of us are apt to do from home these days.) The kitchen is modern and in excellent condition, and there is ample closet space including a washer & dryer. Building residents enjoy a designer fitness center (by appointment), multiple roof top lounge and terraces with 360 degree views, and common places that include fireplace in the lobby.
Roosevelt Island is an attractive alternative to city living because of the easy commute (minutes to midtown) speak-easy reputation, and abundance of community amenities and outdoor space. Packed with parks and green space, the community includes the newly developed Cornell Tech campus with landscaped park space and cafes. Further, residents have access to a large self-park parking garage, the New York City public library, new Foodtown grocery store and two well-stocked bodegas, weekly Farmers Market, Duane Read, Starbucks and a number of local restaurants. Enjoy all the conveniences of city living, with a suburban setting, overlooking the greatest city in the world. Please reach out to tour this unit by appointment virtually or in-person.

ROOSEVELT ISLAND
While not a traditional neighborhood, Roosevelt Island sports an
eclectic collection of apartment complexes, landmarks, parks, and
even some bars and restaurants. Resting in the East River between
Manhattan and Queens, Roosevelt Island marches to the beat of its
own drum.
Roosevelt Island in the 1600's and 1700's was largely private
property that would change names depending on who owned it. One of
the last private landowners of the island was Jacob Blackwell, who
built the Blackwell House that still stands today as the 6th oldest
house in NYC.
New York City bought the island in 1828 and used it for various
purposes like hospitals and prisons. One of the many historic
projects that's still standing is the Blackwell Island Light, a
lighthouse marking an end to the prison and asylum construction.
The last inmate left the island in 1935.
Access to the island was improved in 1930 when bridges
connecting Manhattan and Queens finally added…
