DESCRIPTION
Listing description:
This 1 bedroom apartment is located in a boutique, doorman building on a rare, tree-lined street in West Chelsea. This street truly feels like a neighborhood. You have the benefit of a small, neighborhood feel; walking distance to the Highline, Chelsea Piers, and Hudson Yards; and access to stores, restaurants, and subway nearby. There is a playground at the end of the street. It's a great block in a nice neighborhood. Most of the street is brownstones; this boutique building is pretty rare.

Hmm The apartment faces south, which means you have plenty of sunlight all day long. Big windows and a tree outside make this a great, bright place to work from home.

The apartment is a big one bedroom. If you've seen other 1 bedroom apartments, you know that you're lucky if you can fit a bed into the bedroom. This oversized bedroom currently fits a queen sized bed, two night stands, an oversized full length mirror, and two dressers with plenty of space to walk around.

The kitchen has plenty of storage. If you order in Seamless for every meal, you won't care. If you like to cook like we do, you'll appreciate this kitchen. There is a full size oven and stove. The pass through window means you can still socialize with others while you're in the kitchen cooking or during a party. Speaking of parties, we've had about 25 people in the apartment for our holiday party. It's a great space to entertain.

The apartment is a great size. We currently live here with two people and a dog. There is a big closet at the front door, a big closet in the bedroom, and a linen closet that we built custom shelves for. We chose to have a full dining room table. There is space to have a dining room and living room the way we do now or you can have a super oversized living room with two kitchen stools at the countertop instead. It's up to you!

We'd be happy to introduce you to our cleaning lady. She has cleaned for us for over 5 years; she is wonderful.

If you have questions about the apartment, please let us know!

Amenities:
- The building is wired for Spectrum internet and TV
- Doorman
- Laundry Room
- Elevators
- Roof deck
- Gym
- Pet Friendly

Other info to know:
- The super is helpful and lives in the building
- The two AC units really work. We use them all year long.
- There is no apartment behind ours, which means you don't share a bedroom wall with anyone.
- If you have a car, street parking on this block is really easy.
- We had custom window shades cut and installed; they pull down from the top of the window. We'll leave them for you if you're nice :).
- We installed track lighting in the living room, dining room, and bedroom. If you want overhead lights, we would be happy to sell them to you so that you don't have to install lights. We currently use Phillips Hue lightbulbs in the fixtures.
- Bedside lights and the light above the front door are pictured but not included.

Restaurants on this block:
- Le Grainne Cafe is great for both brunch and dinner (French)
- Fonda is great for tacos and margaritas (Mexican)
- Pastai is across the street (home made pasta!)
- Quanoon just opened and is wonderful (try their kafka meatballs. seriously.)
- HaHa Fresh is the bodega across the street (they'll stock any ice cream you want)
- Foragers is both a market and a restaurant. They have a take out counter too.
- The Empire Diner is an institution. Fine dining inside and aperol spritzes on the patio.
- Don Giovanni is family owned. They have great pizza and Italian takeout.
- Cookshop. A favorite no matter what neighborhood you live in.
All of these are within ONE block of the apartment. The Highline hotel is 2 blocks away and is a great spot to grab coffee. It's dog friendly too!

CHELSEA

Chelsea is a vibrant neighborhood from humble origins located on the west side of Manhattan between 14th and 34th street. With a ton of things to do, places to see, and some of the most luxurious apartments in the city, Chelsea is a neighborhood that's always looking for the next cool thing to add to the vibe of the area.

Fun Facts and History of Chelsea

Chelsea originally started out as farmland, specifically the farmland of British Major Thomas Clarke. Clarke named his estate "Chelsea" after a district in London and the name stuck ever since. In the early 1800's Clark's daughter sold the land to the city, and Chelsea became an industrial neighborhood.

With industrialization came working class immigrants, who worked the piers and helped build the row houses and low rise apartment complexes that are still around to this day. Thanks to its surplus of industries and piers, Chelsea soon became a slightly wealthy neighborhood. It was even the sight of the new theater district before…
