DESCRIPTION
The stylish Tribeca apartment building, Tribeca Green, is also LEED Gold certified. Proud of its status as one of the first green residential high-rise buildings in the nation, this NYC apartment building gives residents the opportunity to lead a healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle. Tribeca Green was designed for a new era of cleaner, energy-efficient luxury living by renowned architect Robert A. M. Stern. From spacious studios to three and four-bedroom apartments with up to 1,800 square feet of extraordinarily flexible space, attention has been paid to every detail. For example, the gourmet kitchens feature Energy-Star rated Kitchen Aide stainless steel appliances, Euro-style cabinetry and marble counters. Other fine finishes include marble baths, oak parquet floors and custom closets. In concert with our commitment to sustainability, and out of concern for the health and wellness of our residents, at Tribeca Green new residents and their guests have chosen a non-smoking environment, which Tribeca Green provides in individual apartments and the common areas. We are pleased to offer this indoor air quality enhancement at Tribeca Green and will continue to look for ways to provide our residents with an environmentally responsible Tribeca apartment.

Fun Facts and History of Battery Park City

Battery Park City is not an organic part of the island of Manhattan. Instead it was used as a port where several major accidents and sinkings had occurred. This left the area dilapidated and largely abandoned.

By the early 1960's, New York was tired of these largely destroyed portions of land and sea and wrote up a proposal to create an extension of the island by way of landfill. In 1966, after several plans were hotly debated, the plan for Battery Park City was unveiled and construction soon began.

The island extension was done by filling the area with debris and bedrock from the construction of various Manhattan projects of the past, like The World Trade Center. While…
