DESCRIPTION
This 2 bed/2 bath apartment in a clean and well-managed building in Ft. Greene/Downtown Brooklyn is available starting October 1st. I'm relocating for work and looking for someone to take over my lease until June 30th, 2021 with the option to renew with the building management afterwards.
***Actual rent is $3525, reduced to $3325. As mentioned in the title, I'm also offering to pay the first month's rent if you take over the lease and move in in October – earlier is ideal. With both reductions, net rent would be approx. $3000/mo.***
The apartment has an 811 sq ft. spread with an open kitchen (w/ kitchen island and large dishwasher), two almost equal-sized rooms and two full bathrooms – please refer to the attached floor plan. It has a south-facing aspect, and the living room and both bedrooms look out onto Downtown Brooklyn. The apartment gets a *lot* of natural light (the picture of the living room in the listing was taken at 7am!), and is a quiet and cozy space. It feels like an escape in the middle of the city, and I've really enjoyed living here for the last two years. Laundry is on the 3rd floor of the building, and the building has a gym and a private outdoor space as well.
The location is amazing! The building is on Myrtle Ave, between Ashland Pl. and Fleet Pl.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN
Located by DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene,
Boerum Hill and Vinegar Hill, Downtown Brooklyn is considered the
central business district for Brooklyn. Right in the heart of the
action, those looking to live here will have access to parks,
schools, and an easy commute to Manhattan.
Downtown Brooklyn was one of the first parts of the borough to
be settled by the Dutch. When the British took over in 1664, the
area was turned into the central business district for the City of
Brooklyn.
Although the rest of the city was relatively indifferent to the
Slave Trade, Downtown Brooklyn was the rare exception. Full of
abolitionists, this neighborhood provided the massive support need
to get slavery abolished in New York in 1827.
After Brooklyn became part of New York City in 1898, business
ramped up in Downtown Brooklyn, but the number of people wanting to
live there ramped up as well. Today, Downtown Brooklyn is equal
parts…
