DESCRIPTION
Listing description:
Sadly, I need to leave NYC imminently, for the foreseeable future. Circumstances beyond my control & not in relation to the apartment - I love this place and will be sad to leave!
For one - location - It's honestly the best location for anyone that wants to be within walking distance of almost every neighborhood south of midtown -
It's amazingly quiet (in a rear building with separate alley entrance - 2 options), peaceful street with ample parking, and the apartment itself is a charmer.
It's nooky, which gives you lots of ways to set it up so it feels perfectly yours - the noise quotient in the apt itself is almost zero - you can't hear from one room to the next, though the total space is fairly small. The details are renovated (newly done when I moved in in 2018) with new appliances. I've never had someone walk in and not love it, honestly :)
It's interruption free - The building itself is older, which was a pain when they did renovations a couple summers back on the unit above me - but outside of that it's been peaceful and almost no interruption of life or amenity.

EAST VILLAGE
The East Village is a buzzing hub of youthful energy and
activity, boasting bookstores, cafes, galleries, and hip bars.
Situated between 3rd avenue and the East River, with 14th street to
the north and Houston to the south, this neighborhood is both
stylish and laid back. Once the most vibrant art scene in NYC, it
remains a trendy neighborhood to the avant-garde while also
boasting a much more polished edge, complete with luxury condos,
franchised coffee shops, and plenty of lunch spots.
Like most of New York, the East Village started out as farmland.
Until the early 1960s, the East Village was just the northern tip
of the Lower East Side, largely occupied by German and Ukrainian
working class immigrants. However, the Beat movement made its roots
in the East Village in the 1950's and paved the way for the influx
of the counterculture scene of the 60s.
Since then, the art scene of the East Village exploded with
series like Andy Warhol's…
