DESCRIPTION
Nestled on a quaint tree-lined Park Slope block and surrounded by brownstones and charm, 158 Berkeley Place is a boutique, gut-renovated prewar townhouse composed of just two duplex residences, lending it exclusivity, privacy and charm. Apartment #1, with two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and bonus office/flex space downstairs, offers the discerning tenant approximately 1500 square feet of bright, functional interior space, as well as TWO private outdoor spaces where you can enjoy the seasons ! Spanning the house's entire ground and parlor floors, this elegant apartment has been designed with a meticulous eye, preserving authentic details while incorporating high-end renovations that give the space a clean and updated feel. Enter downstairs through your private entrance and up the stairway, which leads to a gigantic living/dining room opposite the extra-large open kitchen, complete with custom black lacquered cabinetry, top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances [including a dishwasher], and beautiful chevron-tiled flooring meant to resemble wide planked, white-stained wood). There's also plenty of space left over for a dining table and oversized butchers block. Just off the kitchen is a 110 SF private, decked terrace overlooking the lush private gardens below, providing the perfect landscape for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The powder room, adjacent to the kitchen, has been decorated with mosaic tile and custom vanity.
Trot downstairs to find two sizable bedrooms, divided by a large versatile area that can be used as a den, office space, playroom or casual lounging area. The master bathroom has been intricately redone, with mosaic tiles and a dual sink vanity with dark gray lacquered cabinets and white marble top. The crown jewel of this level, of course, is the private garden, accessible from the back bedroom as well as the den. Other goodies include ample closet space and a brand-new, full-sized washer/dryer. 158 Berkeley Place is positioned in the heart of bustling Park Slope, surrounded by shopping, coffee shops, fine dining, and nightlife. Prospect Park is a few short blocks away, as are multiple subway lines. There's a CitiBike station outside your door. One block to the Park Slope food co-op; sorry, no pets. and row houses were soon built.
Park Slope was slow to develop since the area was hard to get to
in the 1800's. The neighborhood itself didn't see much construction
