DESCRIPTION
This is the best one bedroom in its location & its price range. The location is centralized, within close proximity to Park Avenue, and within a very short (2 minutes) distance to the Green subway line & the yellow subway lines. Prime Gramercy Park, the famed Fenced-in private park is within eyesight of this apartment. This location borders Chelsea, Flatiron, Union Square, & the East Village. The building is an Elevator building and a prewar gem. This landmark building is highlighted by its classical style. The style of this mid-rise structure maintains its elegant decor throughout its entire design, from the distinctive lobby equipped with a black, cast-iron handrail that spirals up through the stairways, to its exposed brick laden hallways, the combination invokes a certain cachet that is usually reserved for higher priced listings. This one bedroom apartment has an entirely smooth finish, the result of recent renovations that follow a contemporary pattern of beautiful color coordination without the risk of looking "overdone". For instance, the kitchen cabinetry is a reddish brown with smooth wood that compliments the grey-white quartz counter-tops perfectly, and ties into matching of the white, heavy duty dishwasher. The result is a simple, yet one of the most eye pleasing kitchens in its price range. The living area is spacious, carrying 3, 16" deep cut windows, providing a wealth of natural light with its triple exposure. This design is intriguing and adds an incredible amount of style to the entire apartment. The bedroom is very comfortable, and has smooth hardwood flooring along with a fully functional closet. The overall space is adequate with the high ceilings adding to the comfort level. Completing the one-bedroom layout is the bathroom, with another exemplary display of prewar charm. The ceramic lavatory is a deep, round bowl shaped-sink, created with high grade porcelain. Recent upgrades to the bathroom along with a full-sized, newly glazed & grouted bathtub.

GRAMERCY PARK

A small neighborhood with a lot to look at, Gramercy Park is an upscale residential neighborhood surrounded by Park Avenue, 14th Street, 1st Avenue, and 23rd Street. This neighborhood is very historic, lined with brownstones and beautiful pre-war apartment complexes.

Fun Facts and History of Gramercy Park

Gramercy Park was the first great example of city planning in the United States. Sprouting up from the park which gives the neighborhood its name, people had to follow strict rules when building homes and structures around the green space. The park was constructed in 1832 and fenced in in 1833.

People started building around the park in the 1840's as a way to revitalize the area after a major depression a few years earlier. Trustees of the park met in 1844 and made a plan for how to layout the development they wanted.

From there, building anything in the neighborhood goes through a rigorous process. Several train lines and buildings were outright rejected, but the process…
