Junior Data Scientist
We love data. We love real estate. While some people see boring statistics, we see exciting untold stories about consumer behavior and neighborhood trends. We are sitting on years of proprietary rental and sales data, so if you enjoy living and breathing data, we have a dream playground for you.

Every month we publish data studies and interactive widgets showcasing our latest findings. We have a long list of interesting data experiments to run, and we can always use new and fresh ideas in our brainstorming sessions. Bring your creativity and your favorite analysis package and we are ready to roll!

The pipeline for publishing studies includes:
  1. Brainstorming a cool idea
  2. Analyzing the data to explore the hypothesis
  3. Build an interactive tool to showcase the finding
  4. Write a report describing the key takeaways
  5. Interview with reporters and bloggers for publications

For those who aren't used to dealing with reporters -- don't worry, it's fun getting your name published and journalists love data geeks.

Requirements Include:
- Expertise in extracting, cleaning, analyzing and manipulating data
- Eagerness to learn a breadth of skills from publishing studies to building infographics

Mobile Engineer
We have two mobile apps published, one for managing online apartment listings and the other for searching apartment listings. Unfortunately, the apps today feel like mobile ports of our website, and we all know there is so much more potential to have smart phones ease the pains of an apartment search.

With your help, the days of phone calls, email tag, and endless hassle will be over. We can roll out the first truly functional real estate on demand app that millions of people will use for finding, scheduling, and leasing apartments.

- Our current mobile web traffic splits 65% iOS Phone, 29% Android, and 6% Tablet.
- Server components are already in place, but we'll build new APIs that make your life easier.
- Current apps use Swift, but willing to go React
- Must work from our NYC office in Midtown, full-time, on daily sprints with our engineering team

Business Development and Corporate Communications Analyst
We have many years of rental and sales data combining housing inventory listings, consumer inquires, and manager interactions, including payment participation and retention. Over the years, our client base has grown more diverse and multi-national. Participants in the New York City real estate ecosystem must cater to the growing segment of international consumers, as well as the landlords and brokers who serve them. We need a statistical data analyst who can lead a series of high impact projects leveraging the vast amount of information we’ve collected.

We intend to use any findings to revamp our growth and pricing strategies. Tasks include interviews and focus groups with clients to test demand elasticity, computing customer lifetime value under different acquisition strategies, identifying and tracking differing metrics across differing cohorts, and optimizing our pricing packages to maximize customer and company value.

Immediate projects include analysis on the effectiveness of our VIP programs, including the marketing, pricing, and promotion strategy. We will experiment with various subscription plans, bulk packages, and seasonal discount offerings, and craft unique positioning statements for each market segment. We will also test FX sensitivities by catering to BTC and foreign buyers, starting with Chinese translated versions of our English content. We will attempt to approximate net promoter scores and overall brand strength by actively participating in online communities and forums.

The scope of work also applies to internal project tracking and task prioritization, assigning sales and operations resources to assignments for new clients. Experience with CRM software such as HubSpot is a plus.

Requirements Include:
- Masters Degree or higher with knowledge of corporate communications, public relations, or marketing
- Bachelors Degree or higher with knowledge of foreign languages or foreign literature
- Very familiar with local NYC college and student groups, as we well as recent college graduates residing in NYC.
- CRM Experience: Client tracking, deal pipeline creation, churn calculation, CLV calculation
- Fluent in Mandarin, deep knowledge of Chinese / Taiwanese culture, to translate website content and provide client support for our targeted foreign real estate buyers. Chinese webapges requires native proficiency in traditional Chinese characters. Familiarity with local social and sports clubs for recent graduates of East Asian decent is a plus.
Sales Lead
We are proud of having bootstrapped our way to profitability without a venture round (of course, we love our supportive seed investors). We have a proven product market fit and revenues that fully fund our salaries and operating expenses.

However, our income sources originate from inbound requests or self-serve web purchases. It's time we grow a dedicated sales team and we need someone to lead it! We have clients paying as low as $30/mo and some many orders of magnitude more than that.

- Experience in small business sales (5-50 person companies).
- You are resourceful and able to tackle any problem (even if you have no expertise in it). You're comfortable wearing many hats. You are not afraid to make cold calls.
- Expected to work out of NYC with trips to Boston, Chicago, and other growth targets.
- Product is already used by thousands of paying clients small and large.
- Our engineering team is at your disposal to make product improvements. A healthy sales and product feedback loop is essential!
- Fully salaried with potential for competitive bonus and commissions.
Marketing Lead
We spend far too much on Google Adwords and FB marketing with little optimization and not nearly enough intelligent targeting. We know we can do better. Join and take over the sizable marketing budget and lead our expansion efforts to Boston, Chicago, and the rest of the nation. We're open to many creative ideas! For example, you could:

- Grow and lead a team of bloggers passionate about real estate.
- Work with our designer to generate revamped offline and online creatives.
- Collaborate with our PR firm to help spread the word.
- Propose anything wild or crazy; it beats giving more money to Google and Facebook.
- Bonus points if you want product management or business development responsibilities.
Full-Stack Engineer
RentHop is trying to revolutionize the way people find, see, and rent apartments. We're looking for an engineer to help us build and improve our product.

- You're passionate about technology, development, algorithms, and data.
- You can take a product idea and run with it, making adjustments and improvements along the way.
- You know Python, PHP, JQuery, and MySQL (or comparable technologies). You're comfortable learning new technologies and applying them right away.
- You're detail-oriented, but not afraid to ship fast.
- You're comfortable working in small teams (the founders will be coding along with you).
Benefits and Perks
- Solve big problems - we have millions of monthly views, and we are a profitable graduate of Y Combinator
- Amazing office space and amenities in Midtown, NYC (block from Grand Central).
- Whatever equipment you need (4 monitors? Laptop? Beanbag? Tea shots?)
- Daily team lunches (but order whenever you want from Seamless).
- Competitive compensation and benefits.
