Home to one of the first-ever skyscrapers, Flatiron is named after one of the most famous buildings in NYC. This area is extremely popular with tourists and is full of shopping opportunities, restaurants, and amazing nightlife. While Flatiron has been around for a while, the Flatiron building wasn't built until 1902, and is considered one of NYC's first-ever skyscrapers. The area has always been a popular shopping district, even being called the "Toy District" at one point due to several shops that sold quality goods for children.
