Heading to the airport might seem like a trek compared to the two others, but it compensates with a less busy atmosphere. The airport covers 2,027 acres and has three terminals. Cost: $13 for a NJ Transit rail ticket and $5.50 for a Newark AirTrain ticket.

Airport Express Bus: If Newark Liberty Airport is your destination you should use Newark Airport Express. Their buses depart every 15 to 30 minutes, and travel time is around 35 minutes to terminal A. You can board the bus at these Midtown Manhattan locations:

  • Grand Central Terminal (41st Street between Lexington and Park Avenue) (Terminal A)
  • Across from Bryant Park at 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue (Terminal B)
