Even during her meetings, she communicated about when she would be free. I felt very comfortable talking to her over the phone about her listings even before I landed in Manhattan. She has always been transparent with all the fees associated, timely, professional and humble. She understood my interests and circumstances, my strengths and weaknesses for my application and advised me how to make it stronger to get it approved. Last but not the least, I found a good friend in her. She told me her story and I told her mine during our walk to respective subways. Yelena was incredibly curt and rude during our e-mail exchanges. I gave her a time that works for me to show an apartment and she confirmed that time works. When that time came, she told me that there was no showing at that time anymore because I didn't confirm that morning. She never asked me for a confirmation and when I told her this, she responded with "You did not schedule or confirmed appoinment and blaming me for not being where you want me to be? Anyway no problem. Good luck." Maybe she is nicer in person, but just through e-mails I really did not want to meet her in person.

I inquired about an apartment with Yelena and it wasn't an initial match. She messaged me a week later with something that did match and showed me the apartment twice and I ended up signing for it. Although Yelena responded to my initial inquiry email, she didn't take the time to confirm my apartment requirements (my profile was out of date) and promptly told me to "try other brokers". Through Yelena, I learned to keep my profile up-to-date, but there are lots of "Hall of Famers" on Naked Apartments who are real professionals, so there is no need to deal with someone who isn't.
