My wife and I have owned the 3-decker on Chestnut Ave since 1976. We moved out of the third floor apartment in 1996. For 25 years I was a house builder, mostly constructing new urban infill first-time homeowner housing, but coming from a background of old house renovation. The 3-decker is still my favorite house type in the city, it is a special environment that lends itself to creating community. We now live in a 2-family house I built a couple of blocks form Chestnut Ave.
