Ivan was everything I hoped for and more in a broker. I tried to look for no-fee apartments, as most of my experiences with brokers have been awful. They usually show me one apartment that doesn't fit my needs or asks at all - this isn't worth a broker fee at all. Ivan was quite the opposite. He listened to what I had to say, showed me several apartments, and kept working with me for a while until I found what was perfect for me. He is friendly, hard working, and knows his stuff. Given that the Astoria real estate market (renting or buying) is less efficient than Manhattan (more px variance/inconsistency + less-than-reliable landlords etc) working with Ivan really made a difference. While getting our apartment for 10% below listing was a huge +, the comfort/knowledge that we were in good hands was equally important. Having rented numerous apartments throughout NYC, my boyfriend and I have dealt with numerous brokers, and none have come close to Ivan. Ivan couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating, making the process of finding a new place far from stressful, but rather enjoyable and exciting.
