In driving to show different apartments, he toured me around the neighborhood and made numerous recommendations for restaurants and grocery stores, and told me which to stay away from. He was really knowledgable of the neighborhood I was looking around in and had good relationships with plenty of landlords. I flew in from out of town to look for apartments, and he was in contact with me many times beforehand to make sure I had the relevant paperwork and finances so I didn't get screwed. I'd recommend Barry to anybody, especially if you're looking for an apartment for the first time in NYC.

Barry is a delight of an agent and a human being at large. He was one of few agents who responded to our online enquiries with speed and sincerity, which made us keen to work with him. He's been doing this for many many years and has good relationships with landlords, supers and other realtors which is very important; it gives him an added resourcefulness. As international students, we were fortunate to work with Barry as he immediately pointed us to landlords who will work with students who don't have a credit history. My husband and I just moved from abroad to NYC and had a tough time getting set up. We searched endlessly for an apartment, all of which were nice but due to us being so new -unavailable. Although I didn't rent an apartment through Barry, I give him my highest review. Barry was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful with my apartment search. He and I had numerous calls, e-mails and texts which set me up for success when applying for an apartment that unfortunately wasn't his listing. Very helpful and honest. He's honest about a location, and a safe location especially for women living by themselves. From the moment I inquired I received a speedy and courteous response, set up several showings and fell in love with the first apartment. He was very understanding that it would be too far for me to travel (for signing, inspecting, etc) and is more than accommodating to work out alternatives.
