Testimonials:

Simply the Best! "Emily Wilk is simply the best - let me tell you why. I moved to NYC from NC and as you may imagine, the housing situation and everything about the rental process is completely different. I found Emily online and we started talking several weeks before I came to NYC to start my search. When I finally arrived she had a plethora of apartments for me to look at (I wanted to see a good number to ensure I knew my options) that fit the specifications I'd provided. Honestly, when we first started looking the process felt remotely overwhelming simply because the size difference from my NC home to a NYC is insanely different. Emily was right by my side and helped me through the process - I'm not exactly sure I can explain how helpful she was. Emily made me feel as though she had my best interest at heart and took the time to explain the pros and cons about certain areas and buildings. NYC is a beast and the real estate market is insane... but that being said, Emily was right there to help me every step of the way. I only had two days to find a place and through her research of the market and understanding of my needs, Emily helped me find my first NYC apartment - that I love. I highly recommend her and wish you the best of luck in finding your next (or first) apartment in the city." by ryanshell at Citysearch

Quick and easy "I needed to find quickly an apartment on West Side. Sifting through all online ads quickly made me dizzy. So I wrote to Emily Wilk asking if she can find something for me. I expected long boring tours from one apartment/condo building to another. But ... it did not happen. Instead, Emily quickly grasped what I need and want and showed ma a string of apartments most of which were exactly or very close to what I wanted. Emily has a great experience and can always explain what to expect from apartments in different parts of the City, in different price brackets, etc Emily really tries to understand your needs, basically as if it were she who is looking for an apartment. When with Emily, time flies fast . She is very kind person and easy to talk to. No pushing, no hustling, you feel as if you are looking for an apartment with your friend. If you are looking for an apartment then talk to Emily - it will save you a lot of time. " by bryga at Citysearch

Professional & Qualified "I moved to the city from abroad and wasn't familiar with the leasing jungle of New York. I wanted to see an Apt. in the UWS and had found Emily Wilk via NY Times real estate. Emily felt right from the beginning what I was looking for. She helped me to understand the NY rental lanscape and showed me exactly what I needed to see in order to make an infomed decision. Emily knows the market very well and showed me many apartments. She was very understanding of my wishes and needs and never pressured me into leasing something I was not 100% sure of. For me Emily was not only a broker but a patient friend who helped me to find the right apartment. If you are looking for an effective and honest broker you should definitely call Emily from New York Living Solutions." By bwestside at Citysearch

BATTERY PARK CITY

Jetting out of the western part of lower Manhattan, Battery Park City is a planned community that's relatively new to NYC. Full of luxury apartments, classy cocktail bars, and a large shopping complex, Battery Park City is the upscale waterfront living people dream about.

Fun Facts and History of Battery Park City

Battery Park City is not an organic part of the island of Manhattan. Instead it was used as a port where several major accidents and sinkings had occurred. This left the area dilapidated and largely abandoned.

By the early 1960's, New York was tired of these largely destroyed portions of land and sea and wrote up a proposal to create an extension of the island by way of landfill. In 1966, after several plans were hotly debated, the plan for Battery Park City was unveiled and construction soon began.

The island extension was done by filling the area with debris and bedrock from the construction of various Manhattan projects of the past, like The World Trade Center. While…
