DESCRIPTION
Hi everyone! I will be out of town for the next couple of months and am looking to sublet my FURNISHED room in our 3 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment for the months of October, November, and December (Oct. 1-Dec. 31)

The bedroom itself has a full size bed, a dresser, study table and chair, 2 side tables, and a closet. AC unit in the room! Heating unit in the apartment. There is a fully equipped kitchen, living room (with TV), dining area in the apartment as well. There is an elevator in the building, part time security in the evenings, and washer/dryer units in the 2nd floor of the building itself.

The apartment is in Washington Heights right off 160th and St. Nicholas. There are many grocery stores, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, etc. within walking distance (no more than 5 minutes). There is the 163rd C-train stop literally right around the block (less than 2 minute walk), the 157th 1-train stop 3 blocks away.

The apartment is a 15 minute walk to Columbia University's Medical Campus, and a short train ride to CUNY and lower Manhattan, so perfect for students!

The asking rent price is $900 per month with the earliest move in date on Oct 1st. I would require rent payment for FIRST AND LAST MONTH upfront (October and December = $1800 total), as well as a $150 key deposit which will be refunded in full after successfully moving out and returning the keys. In addition, proof of income/ability to pay/guarantor, etc. is required. Or if you would prefer to pay for all three months altogether ($2700 total), that's totally fine too.

**Utilities are included in the rent** (electricity, water, gas, wifi, etc.)
NO COUPLES
NO PETS
NO 420 (sorry)

Your roommates are 2 males in their 20's who are current grad students (one is a doing a post-bacc science program, the other is pursuing a PhD in Physics). Both are very cool, friendly, relatively clean and organized, and easy-going guys, and are completely find with having a roommate of either gender.

NOTE: The apartment owner and landlady, a very sweet elderly woman, comes by the apartment once every couple of months and stays over while she is in town, usually no more than a few days. When she does so, she has exclusive use of the living room where she stays at. This is part of the original lease agreement I signed and is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

If you are interested, please message me just telling a little about yourself, as well as if you have any further questions/concerns, or would like to arrange to come by and see the place. Feel free to share with anyone else you might think would be interested as well. Thanks!

Fun Facts and History of Washington Heights

Named for Fort Washington, which was constructed to fend off the British during the American Revolutionary War, Washington Heights was largely farmland, with several stately manors peppering the hilly area. One such manor, the Morris-Jumel House, still stands today as the oldest building in Manhattan.

As the city expanded after the revolution, more and more structures were built in the Heights to house the growing population. The development of apartment complexes and row houses led to an influx of Irish immigrants in the 1900′s, followed by a large Jewish population in the…
