DESCRIPTION
Hi,

I'm a 38 year old British gay cis male professional looking for a roommate for my now spare, comfortable queen sized room (10'1 x 10'6) with 10 foot ceilings, in built closet, in-unit laundry, and large warehouse style windows overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. The room is available from August 1st, but most likely as I am away that interviews would occur until I find someone I like, so have put August 15th as estimated date, but could be available earlier if I find the right person.

Room would come unfurnished, but apartment is essentially completely furnished excluding a couple of items like a coffee table and some dishware my now ex-partner will be taking that I'll replace as quickly as possible!

https://magnolia-dumbo.com/ is the apartment block, and we are in the highest rental corner unit with Manhattan skyline views in both directions (including from your bedroom) via large warehouse style windows, 10 foot ceilings, outdoor pool, multiple amenity spaces, doorman/concierge, and a rooftop. A Lifetime Fitness is also being built due to open in the fall. I also have a great Jura automatic coffee machine for coffee lovers.

Off-street parking available for I think about $350/m in the garage opposite the building.

Please send me some information about you and your interests/lifestyle with your application and I will review and if I like what I see set up a viewing/meeting! My preference is for women or queer folks, the funnier and more relaxed the better.

About me:

Been living in the US since September 2016, moved to the apartment from San Francisco in March so new to New York so would love someone to show me their side of the city and potentially help me build out my friendship group here!
I have a demanding career so pretty busy work wise with moderate amount of travel - work from home most days 9-7/8, 1-2 days in the office
Art lover - collect mostly contemporary photography, most of the apartment walls are covered
ADHD so have a weekly cleaner and my room itself is usually a mess, but common areas kept tidy
Eating out / travel / shopping / music / cocktails / art galleries / museums / all the usuals that a city like NY offers...
Somewhat 'retiring' raver but still like to head out and party every now and again, usually to good techno and queer friendly/mixed spaces, but not particularly sceney
Really bad at going to the gym and staying healthy please help me
Love to cook but bad at finding the time please help me
I have a therapist so I know what's wrong with me so you won't need to help me here
Will be sharing my dog partially with my ex-partner who is a small adorable shih-tzu
Bonus points for sharing my love of dark British comedy shows

Rent is negotiable for the right person

DUMBO

DUMBO is a small neighborhood with a lot of heart that's located right where the name implies: Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Right of the water, this Brooklyn neighborhood is full of trendy entrepreneurs seeking to make an impact in the fields of technology and art.

Fun Facts and History of DUMBO

DUMBO started out as a neighborhood in Brooklyn known as Olympia. In the late 1700's, private landowners purchased much of modern day DUMBO and turned it into Summer homes for wealthy Manhattanites. While this dream never really took off, DUMBO was a popular port neighborhood for those traveling from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

Factories began popping up around the mid 1800's and DUMBO became a place of industry for the next few decades. DUMBO was known for innovation as well, especially in 1890 when the cardboard box was invented there. DUMBO would remain largely industrial, even after World War II.

After many of the factories and office buildings were abandoned in the years after…
