Agent Profile
Kilby Browne specializes in all facets of real estate – rentals, sales and relocations – in Midtown and other Manhattan neighborhoods He also works with many international clients who want his expertise in finding the right home or investment vehicle in New York City. His father's parents left Ireland and landed at Ellis Island, settling in Brooklyn in the early 20th century. On his mother's side, Kilby is descended from the Nye family that planted roots in Massachusetts in 1635. This 10th-generation American was born in New York State and raised in New Jersey, but was in love with New York City at first sight.
After graduating with a BBA in Finance from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD, Kilby worked as a bond trader on Wall Street for over 25 years, and as a conference organizer for an Inc. 500 firm in Midtown Manhattan. Wall Street taught him the fast pace of the fixed income markets, the power of quick thinking, and the strategies of strong negotiating. As a conference organizer for a series of financial forums in Latin American, bringing together the best and brightest in the Private Wealth space, he learned the art of detail by running large live events and the hiccups that go with it. While Head of the LatAm Private Wealth Group, Kilby brought together family offices and private banks to discuss issues of asset protection and growth with mutual fund companies, wealth management firms, hedge funds, accountants, lawyers, insurance companies, technology groups, real estate firms and immigration/citizenship firms. His goal was to provide an educational platform that improved the well-being of his private wealth clients.
Kilby's knowledge of the financial markets and ability to connect his clients to some of the wealthiest families in Latin America were accomplished through a mix of patience and perseverance, while looking out for the needs of each client. His skills as a high-level connector and problem solver enable him to find the right home at the right price with the least possible stress.
Married to Marizete Browne from Rio de Janeiro, his partner in life, dance and real estate at Citi Habitats, Kilby speaks Portuguese and has many connections in Latin America. An aspiring historian and storyteller, Kilby "The Man in the Hat" enjoys reading, walking around town, taking pictures, dancing with his wife, and helping people thrive.
