When my partner and I had to move out of Columbia University housing, we quickly learned that finding an apartment within our budget in the city - especially during the summer - was extremely difficult. I was glad to work with Amauris. He was super responsive from the get-go. He was flexible with scheduling, never hesitated when I asked to see the apartment a second time, answered all of my questions, and offered additional information to help me better understand what I can and can't expect from owners, management companies, and supers. We covered every aspect of the lease together before I signed it (for my wonderful new apartment, yay!!), in detail. If you have not dealt with a broker before, be sure to ask Amauris what is expected for each step in advance. He is so laid back that I didn't always know when to bring deposits or fees or how to prepare them. It all went great, though. He never rushed me or pressured me to make a decision and he seemed as interested in making sure I was informed about the neighborhood and the building as he was in finding a tenant for the apartment (that is now mine, yay!!).
amauris responded very quickly to my initial inquiry, and we set a time to see a few apartments. he met us on time, and had lots of places to show us in our price range. his fee was super reasonable compared to other agents we worked with, and he had access to everything they did. renting in nyc is a pretty terrible process in general, but amauris helped everything move quickly and smoothly. he was professional, knowledgable, and didn't pressure us. he was there from start to finish. i hope to stay put for a few years, but i would definitely use him again!
I highly recommend Amauris. My daughter needed to find an apartment in NYC (northern Manhattan area) quickly and she had a limited budget. I had contacted Amauris via e-mail two weeks prior to arriving in the city (I live in Michigan) and he responded right away that he would be happy to assist us in finding an apartment. The first day I was in the city Amauris showed us apartments within her budget that also accepted guarantors outside the tri-state area. That same day she put in an application for one of the apartments and the following day she was signing the lease. Have nothing but good words for Amauris. My sister, husband & I called him & he helped us at a time when we needed him most. He was very patient with us, assisting us as we viewed several apartments & answered our questions truthfully (as far as we know) & was even accommodated us even after office hours. And when my husband & I finally saw & liked the last apartment which we are now renting, he made it possible so that we could get approved right away. Had no regrets having Amauris as our broker & now me & my husband are happy in our place we now call home here in the city.

Amaurius helped me find a great apartment for a good rate. I apartment hunted as commuter from CT so it wasn't easy to make time to search/secure. Amaurius was very expedient. Was quick to respond to texts and emails and he moved the search/secure process along as fast as I was willing to complete steps. There was no waiting. It was also helpful that he knows the landlords and there habits. I walked around city with other agents who couldn't always get access to units. Was forthcoming about known issues with management companies and buildings. I never got the sense that I was being misled about a unit. Also important -> was willing to work for less than a lot of other agents who want a large percentage of annual rent. Good at his job.
Amauris not only found us the perfect apartment, but he really worked hard to make sure the application and leasing process went as smoothly as possible. I would work with him again.
