Two continents, three cities, 14 homes, and countless adventures later, Desta Wondirad packed his life into the back seat of a black Toyota Camry and drove 250 miles to New York City to become the best real estate agent the five boroughs have ever seen.
Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Desta and his family lived in seven different homes throughout his childhood and traveled the world at discount rates thanks to his mother's career as a flight attendant. When he turned 18, Desta moved to London, England where he completed an undergraduate degree in Journalism, a postgraduate degree in Audio Production, hitchhiked across western Europe, and had a career as an audio engineer and freelance writer. After almost six years in the UK, Desta moved to Washington, D.C. to be closer to his family who now live in Northern Virginia. In DC, Desta continued his career in media and was employed ... by the United States Agency for Global Media before finally making the move to New York City to help seasoned residents and new residents alike find their dream home.
Desta has spent his life so far traveling, moving from home to home, and making friends with people from across the world. And all of his experiences and adventures have helped him realize that home isn't 1,000 square feet, an expensive Calacatta Marble top, or a washer/dryer unit in the apartment (well, maybe that last one does sound like home), but home is, instead, a little plot of peace, the love that stumbles through the loft door, and the smiles and laughs shared across the dinner table.
