DESCRIPTION
Please pardon the mess, during this full renovation in this Awesome 16th Street Chelsea location, 2 blocks from West Village and Transportation. Located on a quite tree lined street, but Surrounded by nice restaurants, pubs and night life, this apartment has plenty going on, but is also very quiet.
This huge 4 room Duplex would be a great 2 or 3 bedroom apartment, or a huge apartment for a couple. The Private backyard is great for entertaining. The basement has another half marble bath and extra room for wine cooler or bedroom/guest room. The front living room is long enough to create another bedroom too, with plenty of room still for a couch and entertainment center off the kitchen. Most of the single floor apartments identical in size above this one, are true 3 bedroom apartments, so you can see that this is a very large apartment, with many possibilities. Northern, Southern and Western exposure provide ample sunlight. The granite kitchen is all new with stainless steel appliances, dishwasher and gas oven/range (see the last photo of a similar unit in the building, as to what the kitchen will look like when finished. Washer and dryer in the unit is a very nice luxury you don't find in many NYC apartments.

CHELSEA
Chelsea is a vibrant neighborhood from humble origins located on
the west side of Manhattan between 14th and 34th street. With a ton
of things to do, places to see, and some of the most luxurious
apartments in the city, Chelsea is a neighborhood that's always
looking for the next cool thing to add to the vibe of the area.
Chelsea originally started out as farmland, specifically the
farmland of British Major Thomas Clarke. Clarke named his estate
"Chelsea" after a district in London and the name stuck ever since.
In the early 1800's Clark's daughter sold the land to the city, and
Chelsea became an industrial neighborhood.
With industrialization came working class immigrants, who worked
the piers and helped build the row houses and low rise apartment
complexes that are still around to this day. Thanks to its surplus
of industries and piers, Chelsea soon became a slightly wealthy
neighborhood. It was even the sight of the new theater district
before…
