LIVING IN DUMBO:
Spectacular waterfront views reward visitors to Vinegar Hill and DUMBO, short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. This compact area nestles into the space at the bases of the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. Explore DUMBO and Vinegar Hill's Belgian-blocked streets to reveal an ahead-of-the-curve art scene. This former manufacturing district attracted artists to its deserted lofts in the 1990s. Their arrival transformed the neighborhood with new galleries, independent shops, and avant-garde bookstores. Today's DUMBO is home to a bevy of start-ups. According to the DUMBO Improvement District, close to 80% of local companies are in the creative or tech industries.
Just steps away from historic Brooklyn Bridge Park and at the epicenter of Brooklyn's flourishing arts and culture community, this new construction rental developed and designed by LEESER Architecture. The modern yet reflective facade is inspired by the building's views of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. Light-filled apartments offer floor-to-ceiling windows, which feature elegant island kitchens, stainless appliances, dozens of outlets, and well-appointed floor plans. On the upper floors, a shared roof deck designed by the architects behind the High Line offers Manhattan-facing vistas.

entrepreneurs seeking to make an impact in the fields of technology
and art.
DUMBO started out as a neighborhood in Brooklyn known as

popular port neighborhood for those traveling from Manhattan to
Brooklyn.
Factories began popping up around the mid 1800's and DUMBO
became a place of industry for the next few decades. DUMBO was
known for innovation as well, especially in 1890 when the cardboard
box was invented there. DUMBO would remain largely industrial, even
after World War II.
