It's an easy walk to Central Park, the Guggenheim, the Met, Whitney ("Museum Mile), and all of the Madison Avenue boutiques and galleries. All around you there are many beautiful historic buildings, specialty shops, gourmet grocers, delis, bookstores and plenty of restaurants. This is a real "destination" area for dining out and there is every kind of cuisine imaginable, in every price range, all within a few blocks. Also just steps away from the apartment is Gracie Mansion (where the mayor resides) with a lovely park where you can take a leisurely stroll along the promenade taking in views of the river, lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.
