In the heart of the upper upper east side (aka east harlem), this is a spacious, exposed brick, high ceilinged, light-flooded sanctuary above a vibrant neighborhood. A large 1 bedroom floor through apartment with an integrated kitchen and living area. This is a REAL 1 bedroom with large kitchen, large living room, large bedroom. Bathroom with large shower (no tub), and a laundry closet with stacked washer and dryer. Large windows on either end so the place is quite bright during the day. Very close to many transportation options, 2.5 blocks to the Lexington Avenue Train line at 116th, 1 block from Select Service Bus on 2nd and 1st avenues, as well as Metro North, FDR Drive, and the Tri-Boro Bridge.
In true NYC style this is 3rd floor walk up, two flights of stairs, no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs this may not be best choice for you. The kitchen has all modern conveniences with a gas stove, microwave/hood, and dishwasher too. There are ceiling fans in each room to save on electricity bills in summer if you dont want to run the AC. There is ample closet space and a loft area with loads of storage, a rare NYC amenity. Lots of great food and cocktail options right near by.

Harlem is enormous. Stretching from the East and Harlem Rivers all the way to the Hudson, Harlem has three micro-neighborhoods that make up this huge area. East or Spanish Harlem is vibrant and colorful, Central Harlem is energetic and cultural, and West Harlem is more suburban and chill. From 110th to 155th, Harlem has something for everyone.
Harlem is so huge that each spot has its own unique history. For example, West and Central Harlem were burned to the ground during the American Revolution, whereas East Harlem wasn't really developed until the 1860's. However, one fact remains consistent for all of Harlem: That the population of the area exploded once a prominent Black neighborhood was destroyed to make room for Central Park.
