DESCRIPTION
I'm a bi-coastal TV writer and have unexpectedly extended my stay in LA to avoid traveling during Covid-19, so for the first month, I'm reducing the daily price of this NYC apartment by 30% of my actual rent.

I've lived in Manhattan for 12 years, this apartment for 5 years, and there's never been another home like it. Shoot me a message, and we can find a time this week for you to visit the place!

* AVAILABILITY *
- April 14th through July 31st
- Minimum 30 days to keep it legal :)
- Potential to take over lease in August

* ABOUT THE SPACE *
- Charming, furnished East Village one bedroom, one bath. You'll have the entire apt to yourself.
- On E. 10th Street, near Ave B. You'll be a block from Tompkins Square Park. Film screenings on the lawn, basketball, ping pong, walking through a park on your commute. Plenty of restaurants and bars in every direction.
- 3rd floor walk-up. True one bedroom with full kitchen and a recently renovated bathroom.
- High speed internet & 44" LED television with premium channels.

* IMPORTANT NOTES *
- Sorry, no pets, no smoking, no parties.
- When emailing me, PLEASE tell me what dates you're looking to sublet.

* PRICE *
For the first month (April 14th through May 13th), I'm reducing the daily price of the rent to be 30% below what it usually is (usually $2800). So, if you move in April 14th, the rent will be:

-- Rent: $1950
-- Utilities (gas, heat, fast wifi): $205
-- Small fee for furniture pictured: $150
-- TOTAL MONTHLY: $2305

If you move in sometime between April 14th and May 13th, I will pro-rate the days so any day between now and May 13th is based on the reduced price (see above), and the days after May 13th are pro-rated based on the normal rent price (see below). Open to any move-in date between now and mid-May. Only requirement is a 30 day minimum stay to keep it legal.

Normal rent breakdown:

-- Rent: $2800 (that's my actual rent, not trying to make a profit!)
-- Utilities (gas, heat, fast wifi): $205
-- Small fee for furniture pictured: $150
-- TOTAL MONTHLY: $3155 per month

* OTHER NOTES *
- I will also ask for the pro-rated amount of the security deposit ($250/month) that will be returned to you within 14 days of your sublet ending.
- This is a legal, transparent sublet where you will just be paying rent and utilities. Unlike a short-term Airbnb rental, you will not be paying inflated prices, service fees, or risk having to suddenly vacate as the city increasingly cracks down on Airbnb's (google it).

EAST VILLAGE

The East Village is a buzzing hub of youthful energy and activity, boasting bookstores, cafes, galleries, and hip bars. Situated between 3rd avenue and the East River, with 14th street to the north and Houston to the south, this neighborhood is both stylish and laid back. Once the most vibrant art scene in NYC, it remains a trendy neighborhood to the avant-garde while also boasting a much more polished edge, complete with luxury condos, franchised coffee shops, and plenty of lunch spots.

Fun Facts and History of East Village

Like most of New York, the East Village started out as farmland. Until the early 1960s, the East Village was just the northern tip of the Lower East Side, largely occupied by German and Ukrainian working class immigrants. However, the Beat movement made its roots in the East Village in the 1950's and paved the way for the influx of the counterculture scene of the 60s.

Since then, the art scene of the East Village exploded with series like Andy Warhol's…
