I grew up right across the street from this 16 story pre-war building.I have to say the West Village has changed dramatically since the early seventies-and so has this building! It still has a 24 hour doorman and is one of the few doorman rental buildings in the West Village. Some of the apartments feature setback terraces and unbelievable views in all four directions.The Art Deco lobby was renovated recently-and BLDG makes a great effort to get Shaker cabinets and stainless steel appliances in the renovated kitchens. They also renovated many studio, one bedrooms and two bedrooms with pewter sconces, hardwood floors and crown molding.I have beeen in the Penthouse with the wrap around terrace-and it really is spectacular One of the pleasant surprises is the fact that gas and electric is included in the rent.They are pet friendly, has a new laundry in the building and it is within a 2 minute walk to the Path or 1 train.
