DESCRIPTION
Looking for someone to sublet 1br in my 2br apartment for the last 3 months of my lease -- July 1-Sept 30, with the possibility of staying on after. I've been in the apartment for seven years and can vouch for its amazingness, but I recently found an incredible 1br in the area and couldn't pass it up. You'll be living with my other subletter, who has a UN internship for the summer. She is lovely and low maintenance and very great.

The apartment is in prime North Slope, right on 5th Avenue between Union and Berkeley. The bedrooms are very large (see blueprint!) and light-filled with exposed brick, a big closet, and space for plenty of furniture. We even had a love seat in one once upon a time. The kitchen is also large and has a dishwasher, a brand new stove, plenty of cabinet space, and an eating area. The living room is freshly repainted with an exposed brick wall, and has space for all the usual couch/TV things. The bathroom is decent-sized and bright. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment, so there's lots of privacy. Both bedrooms have new windows which makes things very quiet and peaceful. if that compels you in any way. :)

As far as the neighborhood, it's about as Park Slope as you can get. 5th Avenue is one of two main streets here, and there are tons of restaurants, bars, dogs, young professionals, and brownstone/leafy tree combos.

There is also a grocery store, a shipping/mailing center, a dry cleaner, and a laundromat right across the street, as well as a 24 hour bodega with all of the things.

The apartment is one block away from the R train at Union Street, a six-minute walk to the Bergen Street 2/3 train and an eight-minute walk to Atlantic Terminal/Barclay's Center (B/D/Q/2/3/4/5/N/R trains).

You should be a clean, respectful person who will keep common areas neat and help contribute to the things that make a good home.

Rent is $1500 per person and monthly utilities/internet come to about $50 per person.

No smokers, or live-in boyfriends or girlfriends. Female preferred. Must have good credit and proof of income. You will be signing a standard sublet agreement.

Thanks so much and hope to hear from you!

PARK SLOPE

On the west side of Prospect Park, wedged between Prospect Heights and Gowanus, lies Park Slope, the chill neighborhood beloved by young professionals and artists. This quiet neighborhood is full of fun bars, restaurants, and unique stores, all of which make living here a lot of fun.

Fun Facts and History of Park Slope

Park Slope started out its life as many New York neighborhoods did: as farmland. However, this farmland would soon see trouble, as it was where the majority of The Battle of Long Island was fought during the American Revolution. After the war, Park Slope would remain farmland until roughly 1839, when the Brooklyn grid system was drawn up. Farmers sold their land to the new city of Brooklyn and row houses were soon built.

Park Slope was slow to develop since the area was hard to get to in the 1800's. The neighborhood itself didn't see much construction until the 1840's and 50's. However, Prospect Park was soon in development in the 1860's and 70's, leading to an…
