DESCRIPTION
So, you've just received your posting to New York and you need somewhere to land and settle on your first assignment here. This is the apartment we wish we could have landed in ourselves when we first came to New York on assignment. It is fully furnished, has its own private outdoor space, and everything you need to hit the ground running.

We were the first owners and occupants of this apartment when we bought it brand new in 2016. Now, we are about to leave New York, and we'll really miss living in this family-friendly and close-knit community where we thrived during our time here.

Define hit the ground running, I hear you say. Well, if you arrive in the morning, you could literally plonk your suitcases down and head to one of the two first-rate coffee shops with good breakfasts (Brooklyn Blend or Burly's) a block away or around the corner. If it's later in the day, you can order in your first meal or pop around to grab a few things at the supermarket half a block away, stop by the wine store on your way back and cook your own meal in our fully equipped chef's kitchen. There's also a Venezuelan restaurant next to Burly's. Either way, we're leaving the apartment stocked with everything we had for a comfortable life here, down to staples in the pantry, a Nespresso machine, TVs in the living room and main bedroom, wi-fi, printer, desk, bed linen, etc. If the weather is nice, the backyard is where it's at with a 6-burner Weber grill and dining and seating areas for entertaining or just hanging out.

The apartment is walking distance to the G, J, Z, and M subway lines, and steps away from the B43 and B38 buses, which can take you to those same subway stations or to the L (B43) and downtown Brooklyn (B38) via Clinton Hill and Fort Greene. The commute to midtown Manhattan (UN included) is an average of 45 minutes and Union Square is a mere 20 mins away.

There is a lot more to say about this beautiful duplex apartment. We can always tell you if you're interested and want more details.

Pack your bags! The rest is taken care of. Really!

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT

Commonly known as "Bed-Stuy", this densely populated neighborhood in Brooklyn is a busy residential and commercial area. Surrounded by Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Bushwick and Willaimsburg, the neighborhood has an easy commute to Manhattan and typically offers lower rent than its neighbors, making this a popular place for young professionals and students. Those looking to rent in this neighborhood can expect to find their home on beautifully tree-lined, brownstone filled streets.

Fun Facts and History of Bedford-Stuyvesant

Bedford-Stuyvesant is actually made up of several micro-neighborhoods. One of them, Stuyvesant Heights, takes its name from the last Governor of the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, Peter Stuyvesant. The other half of the name, Bedford, comes from one of the first major colonies in New Amsterdam. While Bedford was a major settlement, Stuyvesant Heights was largely farmland, and that was the relationship between the two settlements until after the Revolutionary…
