DESCRIPTION
I seek a roommate to share my apartment.
Huge bedroom for rent in 1,000 sq foot Dumbo loft. Apartment is on top floor of building, with large skylight and common space.
Price includes rent + 50% share of utilities, cable wifi and twice monthly cleaning service.

Estimated monthly cost of the room year round is about $1700, or less if we are energy efficient!

Laundry in basement of building.
We are two blocks from Brooklyn Bridge Park.. Half block from F train at York St and 3 blocks from A/C train at High St. Brooklyn Heights/Bridge about 5 minute walk.
Room is approx 240 sq feet and with two windows.

About me:
I am the leaseholder of the apt and have lived here for 17 years with close ties to the neighborhood.
I am a chef who works in corporate restaurant management M - F. I work long hours and like a quiet, comfy environment at home. I get along easily with fellow grown up, laid back folks. I keep the place comfortable and clean. I have two adult cats. They are very social, sweet and entertaining.  I take good care of them and the apartment.

About you:
You are an adult, with some kind of job or activity that keeps you busy and financially stable. You enjoy returning home to a chill, quiet apartment at the end the day. You don't just like cats you LOVE them. You are flexible, reasonable and self aware. You are a decent to heavy sleeper and don't mind a little subway rumbling (95% of my roommates have had no issues). You have a specific desire to live in Dumbo. This is an amazing deal for a very expensive neighborhood! As much space as having your own studio, with the safety/social benefit of having a flatmate.

This is a shoe free apartment. No smoking (of any kind), no vaping.

Yes, there are cats in every photo because they follow me everywhere. You don't have to hang out with them  but if you want to they will happily oblige. This is their home too so I included them for emphasis.

Move in Feb 1st (possibly earlier).

DUMBO

DUMBO is a small neighborhood with a lot of heart that's located right where the name implies: Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Right of the water, this Brooklyn neighborhood is full of trendy entrepreneurs seeking to make an impact in the fields of technology and art.

Fun Facts and History of DUMBO

DUMBO started out as a neighborhood in Brooklyn known as Olympia. In the late 1700's, private landowners purchased much of modern day DUMBO and turned it into Summer homes for wealthy Manhattanites. While this dream never really took off, DUMBO was a popular port neighborhood for those traveling from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

Factories began popping up around the mid 1800's and DUMBO became a place of industry for the next few decades. DUMBO was known for innovation as well, especially in 1890 when the cardboard box was invented there. DUMBO would remain largely industrial, even after World War II.

After many of the factories and office buildings were abandoned in the years after…
