The Space

The apartment very homey and comfortable; conveniently located off the 25th Street top off the R train in Brooklyn (15 minute ride to NYC). A fourth floor walkup with exposed brick walls, quiet & safe space, fantastic rooftop view.

This apartment unlike other apartments in that you really get the best of everything. It's walking distance to some of the most exciting places in Brooklyn. The Barclays Center, The Bell House, Greenwood Beer Garden are some of the best finds! Historic Greenwood Cemetery is also just a two block walk from it. You will not find yourself cramped in the bedrooms.

The Neighborhood

First and foremost, it's safe. People are friendly if you're running to the downstairs coffee shop to grab a panini and a drink or if you've decided to walk through the historic Greenwood Cemetery only a block a way. You'll find prices here are extremely reasonable (as opposed to Manhattan) and you can get an amazing, authentic meal from so many different cultures depending on what you're in the mood for!

Getting Around

The subway is the easiest as the 25th street subway stop (which takes you to Manhattan, Coney Island, or wherever you wish to go) is only a block. And walking also is the most reasonable way to get around the neighborhood as you really are right in the center of South Slope and Park Slope. Greenwood Cemetery, Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and others are all within easy walking distance.

GREENWOOD HEIGHTS

Greenwood Heights is both a neighborhood of industry and livability. While most of the neighborhood is made up of the Green-Wood Cemetery, just southwest of Prospect Park, a good amount of people live here for the waterfront views and easy access to busier parts of Brooklyn.

Fun Facts and History of Greenwood Heights

After playing a major role in the Battle of Long Island during the American Revolution, Greenwood became a cemetery for fallen soldiers of the war. The portion of the neighborhood west of the cemetery was a very popular port, which is why housing started to pop up here.

While still largely industrial, the population of the area grew in the 1800's, the affordable prices attracting the working class and the newly immigrated. The neighborhood was thriving until the Great Depression whipped out much of the business brought in by factories and the waterfront.

Greenwood Heights became known as an area for the impoverished by the 1960's. It remained this way until real…
