Beautiful Alcove Studio, 1 Bath with a large living space, spacious closets, in-home washer/dryer, and southern exposure. The monthly electricity bill is average $40, gas and water are included in the rent.

The building is fairly new, the rooftop views are breathtaking and the concierge staff is very friendly. For us, it was a true luxury living but now we are relocating out East.

The rooftop is always open and is a great place to work from home or read books, there is free WIFI available in all public areas.

NOTE: BEWARE of other listings providing free three-month rentals, read the fine print. These listings are adjusted NET rent for a 15-month occupancy. You will end up paying $2,800+ for 12 months. My listing adjusted NET monthly rent is $2,245. You will be paying $2,620 for 6 months.

Fun Facts and History of Roosevelt Island

Roosevelt Island in the 1600's and 1700's was largely private property that would change names depending on who owned it. One of the last private landowners of the island was Jacob Blackwell, who built the Blackwell House that still stands today as the 6th oldest house in NYC.

New York City bought the island in 1828 and used it for various purposes like hospitals and prisons. One of the many historic projects that's still standing is the Blackwell Island Light, a lighthouse marking an end to the prison and asylum construction. The last inmate left the island in 1935.

Access to the island was improved in 1930 when bridges connecting Manhattan and Queens finally added…
